Philly Falter in Texas & Mahomes Saves Kansas City – Best Moments from National Football League Week 12

The twelfth week delivered an incredible Cowboys rally, or was it an epic Eagles collapse?

Postseason Mahomes arrived to salvage the Chiefs' campaign while the Bears keep to impress while they extend their winning run.

Did Shedeur Sanders perform sufficiently on his debut NFL outing to earn the full-time job in Cleveland?

Let's take a look at the pick of the week in the league.

Analysis – Cowboys Comeback or Philly Fail?

Dallas were down and out at twenty-one to zero down against the reigning championship winners, how exactly did they produce their equal-largest comeback ever?

The emotions of a first home game since Marshawn Kneeland untimely death could have played a part, but technically it was a combination of Prescott’s resolve and a defence that cashed in on uncommon errors by the Eagles.

Dak eclipsed Tony Romo records for passing yards (now thirty-four thousand three hundred seventy-eight) and game-winning drives (25) with an all-action performance – his diving score embodying his all-action showing.

Philly wasted a lead of twenty-one points or more for the initial time after nineteen ninety-nine, with only their second game with several giveaways this season – the other being another disappointing division defeat at the New York.

In addition to 14 infractions for 96 yards, the attacking struggles that affected Jalen Hurts after what – for him – was an explosive start was significant. He'd only passed for 200-plus yards in 4 games before the weekend, he had more than 150 in the opening two quarters alone in Texas.

Yet from the time Philadelphia went twenty-one to zero up their offence derailed spectacularly – with four consecutive punts, a missed three-point attempt and then a fumble giving opportunity after chance to the Cowboys.

The Eagles defence is excellent, it truly is, but an offense that's not eclipsed twenty-one points in five of 7 games (three losses) is now a major concern, because the components are all there but it's simply not working.

Nick Sirianni approach is all about securing the key situations, the defence keeps them in it and what offense there is manages barely sufficient – if it can't even do that and now the composure and possession security is failing, there may be problems in the future.

In Focus – Playoff Patrick Shows Up Early to Save Chiefs

It wasn't quite as extreme, but the Chiefs’ 11-point comeback in the final period against a strong Colts squad was hugely notable – and could have just rescued their campaign.

How big was it? Well, the NFL's Next Gen Stats now assign the Chiefs a 58% chance of making the postseason, whereas a defeat on the weekend would have reduced that figure to twenty-eight percent.

It’s no surprise the playoff version of Patrick Mahomes arrived, throwing for two hundred thirty-five yards in the latter half alone and leading three scoring possessions in their final four possessions to win it in extra time.

A few big throws and swashbuckling runs are commonplace for Mahomes in the postseason, but right now the Kansas City are in post-season form – at 6-5 and only tenth in the AFC rankings.

That was closer to the former Kansas City however, with a first close win of the season after dropping 5 already – they secured eleven of them last year so, if that belief comes back, this Chiefs Kingdom may not be finished just yet.

Discussion – Are Chicago Be Rulers of the Division?

You just can't ignore the Bears any longer. A victory over the Steelers, minus Aaron Rodgers, maintained them first of the NFC North and at eight and three – holding the identical record as the Philadelphia.

They look threatening on each side of the field, with a defense that tops the league in interceptions and total turnovers and, in Caleb Williams, a emerging player now used to securing tight games.

He can still be inconsistent, giving away a score after a turnover in his team’s goal area – but he also passed for three scores and, with already five final period comebacks this season, he understands how to finish the game.

Green Bay are in hot pursuit in the NFC North after overpowering the Minnesota and the Lions are in contention after overcoming the Giants in extra time with a huge game from Gibbs.

Chicago are strangely the most reliable with 8 wins in 9, but as they visit the Super Bowl champs on the holiday we'll see just how good they really are.

Preview – Exciting Holiday in Store

It appears one of the best holiday schedules for years, with every game loaded with playoff implications.

The Lions host the Green Bay in the classic opener in Detroit, before a rare trip return to Dallas for the Kansas City, who began existence as the Dallas Texans way back in the 1960s before moving to Missouri.

The weekend’s rally kings are both clinging to playoff aspirations but have minimal margin for mistakes – so this will have a post-season feel.

And how about the Ravens? An ugly win over the Jets actually has them top of the division after beginning 1-5 and appearing dead and buried.

Will Shedeur Sanders Retain His Job?

Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski batted away questions on whether Sanders had done enough in his first professional start to keep the first-team job when Dillon Gabriel comes back.

Yet the question will keep being raised as Shedeur became the first Cleveland signal-caller to secure his first league game after Zeier in 1999 – with seventeen other rookie quarterbacks unsuccessful to do so afterward.

It was just the Las Vegas, and with the help of an almost feral Browns defense getting 10 tackles, but Cleveland's offense requires a director, a figurehead to build confidence.

And confidence is one thing not lacking in Shedeur, who informed a network {
