The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to provide aid to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the music world. All took part in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The single blends a fusion of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The team running the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a figure said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was characterized as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
